Gareth Trehearn is fairly new to the beekeeping world, having only kept bees for about 5 years. During Covid, while furloughed from work, he advertised free swarm collection and rather predictably his hive numbers swelled to over 50. He now manages around 100 hives in and around the South Manchester area.
Gareth is passionate about rearing locally adapted bees and is proud to have never bought imported bees, having instead gathered all his stock from local swarms and splits.
